There have been conflicting reports from multiple leakers and tipsters in regard to the M2 MacBook Air release date, with March 2022 previously being considered a high possibility. While the bottom “chin” bezel looks more equal in thickness to the other edges in the latest M2 MacBook Air renders, there will be those that bemoan the loss of screen real estate just to remove the notch. The newer renders have removed the blot on the landscape but this has created the need for thicker bezels around the display. The obvious difference to the renders provided by LeaksApplePro and those previously uploaded by Jon Prosser and Ian Zelbo is the presence of a notch. There are two ports to be seen on each side of the 2022 MacBook Air, with the MagSafe connector and Thunderbolt port on the left and the audio jack and another Thunderbolt port on the right. There are no massive surprises to be had in terms of overall design, as it will be the M2 SoC (or whatever name Apple gives to its M1 successor) that will be delivering many of the main reasons for a potential purchase. The new images, supplied by LeaksApplePro, should be accurate as they are supposedly based on leaked CAD files straight from Apple itself. However, the latest renders have done away with the notch – at a cost. In this case, the 2022 MacBook Air, which has frequently been rumored to be bringing the M2 Apple Silicon with it, would end up following a similar design language to the recently released MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16. Renders of the upcoming Apple MacBook Air were leaked last month revealing the expected thin and light laptop with incredibly slim side and top bezels and including the provocative appearance of a notch in the display.
